Past locations for the Global Convention include Australia, China, Greenland, Mexico, Azerbaijan, Montenegro, India, Sweden, Denmark, Serbia, and Montenegro. We are pleased to invite you to join us at our next convention in Bangkok, Thailand, from January 11–14, 2020. Please save the date.
Bangkok is one of the world’s top tourist destinations and a major business centre for Southeast Asia, home to one in every four people on earth. Geana Barbosa, Euromonitor International’s Country Manager, says, “The world is looking at Southeast Asia as a destination for investment, a source of future growth, and an inspiration for innovation. At the same time, companies and governments in this region are presented with the challenge of reinventing themselves to leverage this momentum of economic prosperity.”
Participants will also enjoy the wonderful culture, food, and sights that Thailand has to offer. During our Integration Day on January 12, 2020, we will take a boat cruise up the Chao Phraya River to the ancient city of Ayutthaya.
Advantageously located between China, India, and the Malay Archipelago, Ayutthaya became the trading capital of Asia in the fourteenth century. By 1700, Ayutthaya was the largest city in the world with a total of one million inhabitants. It was a major destination for international merchants from across the Middle East, China, India, Japan, Portugal, the Netherlands, and France. European merchants proclaimed Ayutthaya the finest city they had ever seen. In 1991, Ayutthaya was awarded a UNESCO world heritage designation. We will explore this magnificent city in true Thai fashion—riding on the back of elephants.
“Thailand is one of the two countries in Asia, along with Japan, that prides itself on never being colonized by Western countries. Therefore, Thailand still maintains a lot of its original culture, and visitors will feel the warmth of its hospitality. Thailand’s nickname is the Land of Smiles, so it is fair to say that the entire country looks forward to hosting the Adizes international network,” says Rangsan Thammaneewong, Adizes Thailand’s Country Manager.
